Jerez is a flowing and technical motorcycle circuit in southern Spain, known for its balanced layout, passionate atmosphere and long-standing place on the MotoGP calendar.
Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto is one of Spain’s most iconic permanent racing venues and has been a major reference point for motorcycle racing since opening in 1985. Located near Jerez de la Frontera in Andalusia, the circuit quickly became established as an important venue for both international car and motorcycle competition, later growing into one of the most recognised stops on the MotoGP calendar. The track is especially valued for its technical but readable character, combining flowing medium-speed sections, heavier braking zones and a rhythm that rewards precision and consistency. Jerez has long been popular as a test circuit as well, helped by its climate and strong facilities. The venue offers two closely related track versions, with the standard motorcycle layout at 4.423 km and a chicane version at 4.428 km. Today it remains deeply associated with motorcycle culture, major Spanish race weekends and a strong spectator atmosphere. Its blend of history, accessibility and modern event use makes Jerez one of Europe’s most important all-round circuits for both professional racing and track activity.
